This Terraserver view shows the aerial view at 8 meters/pixel above the location where the Paul Wellstone's plane crashed. I believe the unusual pedistal-like feature in Pleasant Lake almost exactly two miles south of the Eveleth-Virginia Municipal Airport may have been the location of a VOR transmitter the perpetrators may have used to mislead the pilots into an ILS approach into a forested swampy area south of the airport. The plane was moving to the south when it crashed into the swampy area south of the airport. Runway 27 can be seen the upper part of the image.
