NOV 29, 2002 Militants warned attack was coming LONDON - Militant Islamic groups sympathetic to the Al-Qaeda warned of an attack in Kenya one week ago on Internet chat rooms and in e-mails, according to a Muslim cleric. 'Militant groups who sympathise with Al-Qaeda warned one week ago that there would be an attack on Kenya, and they mentioned Israelis,' said Sheikh Omar Bakri Muhammad, the leader of the radical London-based al Muhajiroun group, and a supporter of Osama bin Laden. 'They said in chat rooms that there would be something good in East Africa, that a heavy price would be paid.' He said militants who spoke of the attack had not identified themselves but said they were Mujahideen (Islamic fighters) who supported Al-Qaeda. 'They were taking part in discussions and they sent e-mails,' he said. Meanwhile, British Foreign Minister Jack Straw has condemned vehemently the attacks on Israelis in Kenya, saying there was no justification for such acts of terrorism.
