Yes it does (at least for my xterms, and for gvim too for example).

The size popup shown is even in multiples of the increment (my xterms
show 80 x 57, which is the maximum size you can fit with on a 1024x768
screen when using the lucidasanstypewriter-12 font (which looks nicer
to me than the 7x13 font but it the same size); I once standardized
on that size as usable across a varying collection of workstation I had
access to, and it is still useful with 'screen' to have a consistent
terminal size).
