Apologies: I should have explained. I was testing compilation of the latest version on a CS departmental machine on which I can't install system packages and bzr is not there. (From which I assume that nobody else in the department has asked for it.) I had (foolishly) assumed that because an earlier version had compiled on that machine the latest one should, if transported in a home made tarball. For the moment this does not seem to be important for me. It may affect other Scientific Linux users. Thanks. Aaron
