Apologies: I should have explained. I was testing compilation of the latest
version on a CS departmental machine on which I can't install system packages
and bzr is not there. (From which I assume that nobody else in the department
has asked for it.)

I had (foolishly) assumed that because an earlier version had compiled on
that machine the latest one should, if transported in a home made tarball.

For the moment this does not seem to be important for me. It may affect
other Scientific Linux users.

Thanks.

Aaron
