I've made a little bit more tweaking of :xpm:cross, resulting in test 10 (see http://ctwm.free.lp.se/tmp/). That's the variant I'm personally the most satisfied with, it seems to fit pretty well among the rest of the 3D buttons, at least in my configuration.
It would be nice if some others tried this out and spoke their mind.
