That is an annoying problem. When I was using Sawfish a while ago I wrote
an extension to save & restore the focus when changing workspaces so the
pointer never ended up in a strange location.

Especially given that CTWM doesn't divide workspaces into viewports within
desktops as SF does, something like that shouldn't be too hard to
implement in CTWM itself. I'll look into it.
