Ciao,

in questa installation note di Cisco
(http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst6500/hardware/Chassis_Installation/Cat6500/02prep.html)
si legge:
" The Catalyst 6500 series switches are equipped with internal air
temperature sensors that are triggered at 104°F (40°C) generating a
minor alarm and at 131°F (55°C) generating a major alarm. "

Quello che non capisco è a quale di queste temperature si faccia riferimento:
SWITCH#sh environment temperature
  VTT 1 outlet temperature: 39C
  VTT 2 outlet temperature: 35C
  VTT 3 outlet temperature: 41C
  module 1 outlet temperature: 28C
  module 1 inlet temperature: 27C
  module 2 outlet temperature: 31C
  module 2 inlet temperature: 29C
  module 2 device-1 temperature: 26C
  module 2 device-2 temperature: 31C
  module 6 outlet temperature: 30C
  module 6 inlet temperature: 27C
  module 6 device-1 temperature: 35C
  module 6 device-2 temperature: 34C
  module 6 asic-1 temperature: 27C
  module 6 asic-2 temperature: 27C
  module 6 asic-3 temperature: 27C
  module 6 asic-4 temperature: 27C
  module 6 asic-5 temperature: 26C
  module 6 asic-6 temperature: 26C
module 6 RP outlet temperature: 30C
module 6 RP inlet temperature: 30C
module 6 EARL outlet temperature: 35C
module 6 EARL inlet temperature: 26C
  module 7 outlet temperature: 39C
  module 7 inlet temperature: 27C

Infatti la terza temperatura (che dovrebbe essere se non ho capito
male un sensore interno generico, posto vicino al backplane) segna una
temperatura superiore ai 40°C ma non ho allarmi evidenti (neanche
dallo show logging):
SWITCH#sh environment status
backplane:
  operating clock count: 2
  operating VTT count: 3
fan-tray 1:
  fan-tray 1 type: WS-C6509-E-FAN
  fan-tray 1 mode: Restricted-power
  fan-tray 1 fan-fail: OK
VTT 1:
  VTT 1 OK: OK
  VTT 1 outlet temperature: 39C
VTT 2:
  VTT 2 OK: OK
  VTT 2 outlet temperature: 35C
VTT 3:
  VTT 3 OK: OK
  VTT 3 outlet temperature: 41C
...

Qualcuno ha un'idea su come va interpretata la guida?
Grazie

Saluti
Francesco Crippa
