Based on feedback I got on the http-state mailing list from a Firefox developer on this topic, we should probably consider making _all_ failures to parse the expire date as a reason to switch it to a session cookie and not just on blank dates, as that seems to be what Firefox does. (Still to be found out how others deal with such cookies)

Sounds like a sensible idea to me. Do you need any help with that? I could run a few tests to find out how different browsers handle bad dates in cookies. If we agree to treat these failures as session cookies, the actual patch would be trivial.

Please go ahead, I have so much in my hands already so all the help I can get is appreciated!
