I doubt anyone who keeps up with tech news have missed it, but Google
presented their SPDY protocol a while ago. See http://dev.chromium.org/spdy
for all the details. This experimental protocol is meant to replace/improve
the HTTP situation "for a faster web".
As such a major player is behind this effort, and they already have patches
making it work in their Chrome browser, I think it is worth paying attention
to.
The relevance for us is of course the consideration for libcurl. How and if we
should support SPDY. I don't have any particular answers to this right now and
I don't have any particular use-cases for SPDY, but...
