Frustrating for whom? I've announced this pending release several times and you didn't mention this until immediately _after_ the release?

After several releases, I'm sure. Based on the list archives, this fix should have been part of 7.19.5, or at least the one after it seeing as I sent it between 7.19.5 feature freeze and release...

But nobody has said anything about any such patch in a very long time.

In general, if nobody has brought up a subject in two weeks or so, you can count on it having been forgotten and you should bring it back up. Especially when I've asked for it. I also tend to ask for such issues roughly 14 days before every release, which since 7.19.5 thus have been done at least six times.

The 7.21.1 release contains 37 bug fixes and 4 changes done during 56 days, it should at least hint that there's always a fairly high degree of bugfixing going on, and we really need help of all submitters to make sure that A) the bugs really get fixed when we think we have done it and B) that we don't miss important patches and bugs in the flood of information.

And to be specific, can you please tell me exactly what bug and what bugfix you're talking about?

It is documented in libcurl as "known bug #62", and the last fix patch in message id <[email protected]>

As far as I remember, we've never had a non-contriversial and complete patch for that problem. Can you provide the patch again please?

I have however written my own fix for the known bug #62 as I mentioned in my post and patch series I posted here the other day:

        http://curl.haxx.se/mail/lib-2010-08/0117.html

... and I didn't see any comments from anyone on that (yet).
