Thread-safety and curl_global_init() on SDL OpenGL context.

Is there a chance that curl_global_init() has to be called _before_ an
OpenGL context creation of SDL? I'm asking because I'm using a
single-thread application using cURL, however, I notice the debugger
still sees some thread creation in the beginning which is just SDL's
initialization.
