hi, It looks like there is little interest to change these files, as I'm certainly the 2nd person actually using them I can understand why.
Maybe I should simply write a new set of makefiles and maintain them separetely, so you can keep the current system while I maintain the new ones. That would definitively be easier for me than fixing conflicts with cosmetic changes like those committed recently :).
