It seems that since 2010, when the issue was last discussed in this
list, a lot of major sites (e.g. Twitter, Google, YouTube) have
adopted OAuth as their main or even only method of accessing their
service APIs. However, cURL lacks OAuth support, either internal or
via a relatively known external library, thus causing the casual user
to resort to some non-portable workarounds or shell wrappers.

So, are there any updates on OAuth support for cURL or libcurl?

Hi and welcome to the libcurl development corner!

Yes, there were some talks about oauth back in the days and some people seemed to be interested in getting "native" support for it. Then the discussion died and nothing has happened since.

I was under the impression that the existing oauth libraries are good enough for people so the interest in getting this supported by libcurl directly is not very big. Perhaps I was wrong.

I'm not aware of any oauth work going on or being planned. If someone wants it added, it is just to roll up your sleeves and start the work.
