I'm not sure why that doesn't work for you, but that's a really funny mix nonetheless. (curl 7.19.7 0 + libcurl 7.46.0)
You probably get your old curl binary run with the new libcurl install. What if you make sure you actually use the 7.46.0 curl tool as well?
