We should of course try to remove things from that list that are working now!
Depending on what features you need you may have some troubles. I can imagine that lack of appropriate SONAME may be problematic for you.
... which ironically is not mentioned as a "Current flaws in the curl CMake build" in INSTALL.cmake =)
