I found a work-around for the issue I was seeing and now it seems my travis
build can submit coverage data to coveralls:

Code coverage is at 70% right now.
I'll try adding some event-tests and possibly a few selected torture tests as
well (to increase coverage somewhat) and merge to master soon.
