Absolutely, but my points were more that that feature is not used by curl itself and is not documented to work in the API plus the fact that the curl_m*printf() functions should not be used by applications!

But sure, others have expressed similar concern about breaking existing functionality. I *think* this might instead push me towards starting to think about a (soname) bump to libcurl version 8, where we can remove some old legacy.

What legacy would YOU like to see ripped out? =)
