Ouch, that seems highly annoying.
The external solution is simple but cumbersome because you have to
type it in for each session: *export DEBUGINFOD_URLS=" ! I wonder if
it would be a good idea to disable it automatically in runtests.pl
Since it already hit you chances are it will also hit someone else and
then I think clearing the variable by default in runtests.pl is a good
idea.
We already clear and set a whole set of variables in there for similar
purposes.

Would you like to have an enabling cl option or do I simply handle it as
it is done for SSL_CERT_DIR ?
