Hi Sorry for the weird reply formatting, joining this discussion late.

Well yes, we're a very small team of volunteers with a very large product. That means we have extremely limited coverage for any area of expertise. We switched from other libraries to using CURL because of the myriad of CURL backends, and to reduce the support burden on us. So yes, we are asking for your forbearance in this regard :-) > But I can help you out and say that OpenSSL does not natively support > accessing the Apple OSes native certificate store. There needs to be code > added for this. I know (for a fact) there is no-one currently in our loosely coupled-team that has the combination expertise of crypto API and macOS development. I will ask if anyone is willing to tackle this, but it likely take quite some time (developing the code, getting it upstreamed, getting that into a release, pulling that release into LibreOffice, getting a version of LibreOffice out). I understand that using this backend is non-ideal, but it would be nice if it could be maintained for the benefit of our small group of mac users. Regards, Noel Grandin (LibreOffice committer, but no authority for speak for the others as a whole)
