Failed to cross-build tools on some Ubuntu

I'm not anymore able to build evbarm tools on an Ubuntu 13.10 x86_64 host. 
Building amd64 tools work properly.

The build failed for evbarm with the following error:

gcc.o:(.rodata+0x758): undefined reference to `host_detect_local_cpu(int, char 
const**)'

I can provide a full log if needed. Any idea where the error can come
from ?
