I'm running amd64.
For me, debugging the X code is just to much detail. I was hoping
someone might have tried it before...

After much assistance, I've finally got my new Gateway box running. Now
I need to get X windows up.
The machine has an E1-2500 processor, and claims "Radeon HD 8240"
on-board graphics. However, booting a GENERIC kernel gives this dmesg:
genfb0 at pci0 dev 1 function 0: vendor 0x1002 product 0x9838 (rev.0x00)
genfb0: framebuffer at 0xc0000000, size 800x600, depth 32, stride 3328
wsdisplay0 at genfb0 ...
[snip]
Any hint on how to proceed?
Put some debug in xf86-video-vesa to find out why it doesn't work ?
Are you running NetBSD/amd64 or NetBSD/i386 ?
You could try hacking the PCI ID for the GPU into xf86-video-ati in
xsrc but you will still just get a dumb framebuffer.
