When I removed that flag it compiled quickly instead of > running out of memory. May be this is gcc 4.8/powerpc related. I have been experiencing the same error (w/different allocation reports) cross-compiling for NetBSD-current/sparc on NetBSD-7/i386. I usually also compile -current for i386, amd64, macppc, prep, mvme68k, mac68k, sparc64, and evbmips-mips64el, but have only attempted the i386 and sparc builds since the Mesa/fontconfig updates. The i386 build succeeds, sparc fails as noted in this thread, and I am attempting the amd64 build now. (A build of -current/amd64 succeeds on a netbsd-7/amd64 host.) My i386 build host nominally has 2GB RAM+2GB swap and is only running the builds plus X-server/xdm and NFS server. I'm logged into it via SSH. -- |/"\ John D.
