bash-4.3# ls *wd*
ls: *wd*: No such file or directory

bash-4.3# fdisk wd1
fdisk: cannot opendisk /dev/rwd1d: Device not configured

bash-4.3# id
uid=0(root) gid=0(wheel)
groups=0(wheel),2(kmem),3(sys),4(tty),5(operator),20(staff),31(guest)

bash-4.3# fdisk /dev/wd1d
fdisk: cannot opendisk /dev/wd1d: Device not configured

bash-4.3# disklabel -v /dev/rwd1d
disklabel: /dev/rwd1d: Device not configured

bash-4.3# disklabel -v wd1
disklabel: /dev/rwd1d: Device not configured

I'm going to try a different disk just in case this one is bad in some way.

Thanks for responding,
Paul
