Yes, it is, but it works anyway.... If this is to be fixed, it should be
shipped upstream to be fixed there (a change would not be difficult,
but we should not be wasting time changing other people's working
code for reasons like this).
I made the same comment to CHristos in off-list mail, and similarly
asked Kamil not to "fix" it (here) if UBsan complains.
