Hack: $ ssh -X user@localhost $ firefox52 > /dev/null 2>&1 & $
and the problem sites don't tickle the i915drmkms/intel driver's sensitive spot that makes firefox52 suddenly quit. I've been using an alternate username for this. Perhaps I can set up an alternate profile to run two simultaneous instances of firefox52 as my normal user? Haven't tried that before. (X11-forwarding otherwise represents too much of a performance hit for using video sites, so need an instance running directly to avoid this. Maybe do the other way around--all non-video stuff through X11-forwarding and a separate instance running directly only for using video sites.) -- |/"\ John D.
