Hello,

I’ve been lurking on this list for a while and I thought I would introduce
myself because I get the impression that many of you already know each other,
and I’m not sure if it’s really appropriate for me to be here. I’m not a
cryptographer, and most of the discussion on this list so far has been way over
my head. But I have studied some crypto, I have a basic understanding of how
elliptic curves work, and I’m a big fan of the technology. If you want some
idea of where I’m at in my studies, here’s a little primer I wrote a while ago,
as part of a series of blog posts on applying digital signatures to the problem
of credit card fraud:

http://blog.rongarret.info/2013/02/a-simple-solution-to-credit-card-fraud_28.html

I’ve produced a few of my own implementations of curve25519 and ed25519 as
exercises. The most interesting one (IMO) runs on on a teensy3
(http://www.pjrc.com/store/teensy3.html) as a proof-of-concept that this device
could possibly be used as an HSM. If anyone here is interested I would be
happy to release the code. In fact, I would really appreciate a code review
from someone who actually knows what they are doing.
