I split all the "border-line case" ports (xmonad, darcs, and pandoc)
[1].  This way only x11/xmobar should be reverted, since that is really
an end-user application.  All the end-user parts are detached from GHC,
therefore they are really standalone applications.  The xmonad port is a
bit interesting: It can be installed and used without a library but it
requires the library to use a configuration other than the default.  I
added a pkg-message to notify the users about this.  Note that there is
no interaction between the two parts, they can be configured, built,
installed, deinstalled independently.
