This is indeed the correct way to quote when the original contains
a spelling or grammer mistake.

Having just read Roy Jenkins excellent (read it!) Winston Chuchill
biography I can assure you that not only would they do that, they
would also try to track down which particular bit of his breakfast
was responsible :-)
