Great idea. It's in a wiki -- can you break it up into a form that you
think is easier to understand? Then we'll check it to make sure it's
still accurate.

Thanks!

|
| trying to look form casual reader POV, i strongly recommend to split
| this into 3 sections: first about 6.6. tell here that main improvement
| comparing to 6.4 is SMP support and give links to full whatsnew and
| download pages
|
| second section about HEAD improvements, it should make clear that it
| is the future 6.8 version that is currently under heavy development
| (sorry, but HEAD isn't descriptive for casual reader). again, download
| link will be great. btw, how about starting whatsnew (readme) page for
| this version just and don't postpone it until actual release. i think,
| this should make life easier both for you (it's easier to record the
| progress as it gone instead of recalling all the things done in last
| 1-2 years) and for us (no need to dig into ghc-cvs archives to learn
| what interesting features are in current HEAD snapshot)
|
| third section should mention features that is currently separate from
| GHC but planned to be included
|
| btw, what are "data-parallel extensions" you plan to release before
| Christmas? any paper, wiki? in general, it will be great to include in
| each item some url to further info
|
| thank you for compiling this list. like the readme lists all the new
| beasts in 6.6, this page lists all the new interesting things in HEAD
| version and it is the great source of information!
|
