Usually means you ran a darcs push and aborted before the end. If you
aren't running darcs at the moment, then just rm _darcs/lock.
I don't think I did that (though there was a bit of a wait before I
answered yes/no on which patches I wanted to push)... I guess maybe
someone else did, but what if there's a reason for the lock still to be
there (non-local repos are trickier...)
There were a couple of spinning darcs processes on darcs.haskell.org (owned by
nx), one of which was trying to push to the testsuite. I've killed them now, so
you should be good to go.
