This happens to me on Windows (you don't say which platform you are on), and
its always because I'm getting the Windows/System32 sort, instead of the Unix
sort. I fix it by putting msys in my path before Windows.
This is on Mac OS X 10.4.9 so I assume it's something else. In any case,
it doesn't seem to do any harm, it's just strange.
