The attached two patches fix the Template Haskell bugs with Haddock and a recent stable release. I already pushed the patch to GHC stable; these two patches enable the code path in Haddock to make use of the fix. The first patch defines a preprocessor constant; the second adds a local definition of a helper function only available in HEAD which would have changed the public interface of the stable branch's GHC API.
I'm not pushing these patches directly, because I'm not sure which repos they should go to. I trust someone here (mainly Ian) will know what to do with them :)
