No need to apologise; quite the reverse. Well-characterised bug reports are valuable.
(Not that I understand this particular one.) Our current plan is to put out a release candidate of 6.10.2 in a matter of days, and then make the new build system the top priority, with a release candidate in on the order of a couple of weeks. It's unsatisfying fixing the old system when the new one is nearly ready!
