Also to get to this stage I needed to apply attached patch. However I'm
not sure I got `A' definition right hence just commenting out #ifdefs....
Thanks for pointing this out. A actually shouldn't appear at all in this
code, it's just the variable that appears in the specification so I must
have mindlessly copied it. Anyways, that was a bug which is now fixed.
Oh, but `A' was needed for i386 and DEBUG cases! I've just reused this
for ARM by commenting out #ifdefs!
Indeed. You'll note, however, that I changed the A to offset. This is
because I have to compute the initial addend from the immediate value of
the instruction.
OK.
OK! Quick testing reveals:
Loading package ghc-prim ... linking ... ghc-stage2:
/export/home/karel/vcs/ghc-src/bgamari-ghc-arm-linker/libraries/ghc-prim/dist-install/build/HSghc-prim-0.2.0.0.o:
ARM to Thumb transition unsupported
ghc-stage2: unable to load package `ghc-prim'
which is indeed progress.
Hmm, progress indeed. I was really hoping I wouldn't need to deal with
the ARM to Thumb trasition though. I'll take a look at it now. Some of
the cases didn't look too hard to handle.
I think you will need (see below).
Indeed, I actually had a working build not so long ago but then somehow
broke it.
And this rings a bell here. The problem is, I oneday come and attempted
to build thumb build from previously well working arm build and this was
complete failure. Maybe, it's a time for you to attempt arm build of GHC
HEAD? i.e. I remember your few relocs pointing to you having plain thumb
system and also ghc building in thumb more....This was never working here...
Cheers,
Karel
