You can check the value of $(GhcUnregisterised), which is set in
mk/config.mk:
ifneq "$(findstring $(HostArch_CPP), i386 x86_64 powerpc arm)" ""
GhcUnregisterised=NO
else
GhcUnregisterised=YES
endif
but can be overriden in mk/build.mk.
