+ note that some PIR language changes are mentioned in DEPRECATIONS section, as
they've gone through a deprecation cycle and are now completely removed. Other
syntax constructs are just changed, in which case they're listed under changes
in compilers|IMCC. Yes I know this looks slightly random, but it's not :-)
