So you must have a different setup than I do because I cannot find a single
instance of the file you refer to in my server!
I am using the latest versions of CVSNT and WinCvs and I am only using the
ntserver protocol on all my servers.

Maybe Tony Hoyle can shed some light on this strange problem? Where does
the .perms files come from????

The .perms files are in the repository, not amongst the checked out files /
directories.

Very strange,
I have about 40-50 checked out modules from all kinds of CVS servers
(CVSNT on NT4, W2000, XP; CVS on Linux; CVS on SourceForge etc) and in
not one single case do I have these files. The total amount of checked
out module space is several hundred megabytes.

Are you really using WinCvs on a Windows platform????
Or are you on some unixy system or maybe Mac???
