I believe that NNTP is part of IIS5 (and IIS4/NT OptionPack). There *is* an NNTP service (publishes "public folders" as NNTP groups) as part of MSX (exchange), however I believe there is a standalone version of the service for IIS.
Adding it on a "switched" server is not something I've done. Normally you'd do it via "add/remove programs", then "add/remove windows components" (or something like that). I'm not certain where the install files would come from though, since I don't think a "pro" install includes those... You may have to re-run setup from an IIS install CD (if such a beast exists). On server, you'd go into "Internet Information Services (IIS)" details (click the Details button after selecting IIS) and check the options you want... Exchange requires NT Server so you'd have to use ntswitch for that. I've also done it the other way so I can install apps that refuse to install on the server version (mostly companies trying to extort ridiculous amounts of extra money for an identical product).
