Understood. I mostly want some clarity on the support for this procedure/mechanism/sequence as it turns out to be useful with our workflow. As it stands you've confirmed for me that deletion of branch tags is supported in 2.5.03 (and presumably in 2.5.04) and the mechanism described for the "renaming branch of branch tags" is indeed valid.
