Is this only in 2.8 of Gnome? (other than as a separate pkg?) Or in a fresh install of Gnome 2.6? I can't find it on my FC2 which has been running Gnome since I installed it.
But, realistically I'm very happy with Firefox. The release of 1.0 is only a few days hence. :)

Epiphany is the default Gnome browser. Although many Gnome users prefer Firefox and Galeon. I was fairly sure that Novell was going to ship Firefox with their new desktop, but maybe that has changed. Epiphany is a pretty good browser. It's mozilla-based and has solid integration with the Gnome desktop. It offers a unique bookmark system based on categories rather than folders. I used epiphany for many months until I recently switched to Firefox.
As far as the relationship between Galeon and Epiphany, Marco (the original Galeon author) decided to abandon Galeon after struggling to keep down feature bloat. He had a vision for a very simple web browser and it was clear that many people involved in the Galeon project didn't want that. So he simply started a new project: Epiphany. It is designed to be minimalistic and easy to use. For some that's perfect. For others who require more features, Firefox or Galeon might be a better fit. To each his own...
Epiphany does have a certain elegance and polish which I do miss. But I couldn't resist Firefox's features and extensions since I do a fair bit of web development for work.
