Just to clear this up, using the Wayback Machine, I went back in time to 2001 and looked at the web site for Connectix (original vendors of VirtualPC) and there is no mention of a version for the host being Linux. So my memory was faulty.

In summary, you can use it to run Linux under Windows, but not the other way around.

So the next question:

Anybody played around with Xen from the Brits? Rumoured support in upcoming kernels for this. What about Windows running under it?

Speaking of a similar topic, when MS bought out Virtual PC, did they make it so you could no longer guest MS products under Linux.

MS Web page says these combo works:

Host : Guest
Windows : Windows
Windows : OS/2
OS/X : Windows

Journalists (eWeek, Newsforge) say MS admits this works

Host : Guest
Windows : Linux

But has this combo disappeared:

Host : Guest
Linux : Windows

Or is my memory faulty, and VirtualPC never supported this?

Thanks
Ed

I've always resisted this product becasue I don't own a copy of Windows 98 and much of what I need to install is NT 4 or greater.
$99.00 till 3/31/05

Great news!
