Well, almost. I missread the article the first time. What it really is is using you gmail account as a 2GB filesystem.

It may have some potential when using a customized Knoppix/Kanotix/Morphix with a kernel big enough for networking, the GmailFS, and custom setting saved in Gmail:

or colinux, which mounts the GmailFS instead of the file on the local machine, or a Virtual Privacy Machine:

which again mounts the GmailFS as its / partition.

With the Knoppix version, all you'd need is a CD and a NIC in the machine. No hard drive required.
