How does one troubleshoot bugs in FireFox extensions?
I recently downloaded a FireFox extension called BioFox, a nifty little extension the gives me quick access to BLAST and other bioinformatic resources. However, when I install it using my normal profile, FF says everything is installed OK. But when I click on View > Sidebar, BioFox is not there. On the other hand, if I create a new profile, install the extension, everything works just fine, although I don't have any of my other extensions or bookmarks or other settings.
So, my question is, how does one go about comparing configurations? Are there log files or error files or some kind of debugging environment which can shed some light on why the extension shows in one profile while it does not in the other?
