Hi. I have two linux boxes at home, and I want to conect to internet.
SBC told me it's impossible, they offer service only for windos and

Do you now another ISP ?
SBC will work just fine with linux. As will any other ISP.
If you had only one computer, Linux can handle connect to SBC just
fine over PPPoE, which is what SBC uses to establish an internet
connection. If you are connecting two machines at home, I'd
recommend that you use a router/fw/nat/dhcp-server/dns-caching-server
that supports PPPoE. Kara and Steve Pritchard sell routers that are
guaranteed to work with Linux[1]. They are fairly inexpensive. Once
you have a router, you simply configure it to connect to SBC on the
"WAN" side and configure it to route network traffic on the "LAN" side.
If you need more help, just post away here. We don't mind helping
out the new folks to Linux. If you want in-person help from
volunteers, just drop by any of the local LUGs[2]. If you want
immediate in-person help, make the short trip to Illinois and drop by
KSPEI.
