Just got this from our business team and thought maybe folks here
have a better clue than I do about "business software":
<quote>
Presently we have iterative MS Project, MS Word, and MS Excel files
which are linked to a unique project IDs, stored in a file system and
loosely organized. These are decentralized, some existing on Tracy's
computer, and some only on the computers of tam leaders. We are seeking
a software system to at a minimum organize multiple projects are they
are initially formed, approved, evolve, and are completed. We want the
simplest system (not a time for a complicated tool) with minimum
learning time and reasonable features. For example, I would like
a reporting tool to be able to review all active projects, to see status
from a budgetary or timeline perspective. Or to review new projects
that are forming but not yet approved etc. This will support a higher
degree of focus, and can intercept projects that are going off track
sooner. It can also make it possible for multiple people to review
project status efficiently.
Clearly there is a cheap and effective easy to use canned solution for
this somewhere in the market. What is out there, how much will it cost,
what will I offer? Is there anything that links to the software we now
use? How should we proceed?

Anyone know of any Open Source software sales people I can ask about
this? Clearly, we would be willing to pay for the software. And I'm
too busy doing other things right now to spend time Googling.

- Robert
