Had the same problem a long long time ago, try adding Option sw_cursor
under Device section of your xorg.conf or XF86Config file.  Worked for
me, but that wasn't a MAC, but it was Nvidia Driver.  You could also try
using a previous NVidia version (they have all previous drivers on their
website) I have had issues with a couple of their drivers, and just
choose a different version, and it worked fine.
