Since it is Hardware RAID 5, I think Linux should see it as SDx. It may 
need a custom driver from Compaq (HP).

You may want to try CentOS 4.2. I have read it works on Compaq Proliant 
servers without problems. Warning! If you try CentOS 4.2, SE Linux is on 
in the default install.

I have not used Linux on the Proliant line.
