Even more strangely, all the distros we tried claimed the boxes were  
supported. FreeBSD 5.x and 6.x went belly-up during the CD boot (some  
kernel jump message which never executed...), NetBSD installed but a  
subsequent reboot failed to find the kernel even though we used the  
"custom" install steps. If anyone can offer advice, we would be  
grateful.
