uudecode (-m) supports base64 and is available under Mac OS X and usually under GNU/Linux. recode is a more generic tool that also supports base64 ``surfaces'' (and just about everything else). It is not available under Mac OS X, but is available in fink: http://pdb.finkproject.org/pdb/package.php/recode It is usually available in GNU/Linux distributions (certainly under Debian). Warning, it has a bit of a learning curve. To change from base64 to a Mac text file: $ recode Latin1/Base64..mac <IN.base64 >OUT.mac As you can probably guess, you can also use it to convert between UNIX/MSWin32/Mac newline characters. To convert from Mac to UNIX $ recode Latin1..mac <IN.mac >OUT.txt The info pages for recode are quite extensive. dd -- David Dooling _______________________________________________ CWE-LUG mailing list [email protected] http://www.cwelug.org/ http://www.cwelug.org/archives/ http://www.cwelug.org/mailinglist/
