Is it possible to boot an image from grub?

I normally boot LiveCDs on my x86 system using the CD-ROM: insert CD
and boot system. What I would rather do is put the ISO images on a
hard drive with an ext3 filesystem and use grub to boot from the
images. What I'm thinking is that I need to put the kernels and
initrds for each ISO in their own folder, and then point grub to the
kernels. Something like this:

/dev/hda1/
|-- boot
| `-- grub
|-- dsl-1.5
| |-- dsl-1.5.iso
| `-- vmlinuz
|-- knoppix.402
| |-- knoppix.402.iso
| |-- linux
| `-- minirt.gz
|-- kubuntu.510
| |-- initrd.img
| |-- kubuntu.510.iso
| `-- vmlinuz
`-- ubuntu.510
     |-- initrd.img
     |-- ubuntu.510.iso
     `-- vmlinuz

I had a look through the grub website[1], but didn't find anything
about booting an image. Is it possible to boot an image? If so,
what would a grub stanza look like?
